Christmas involved a lot of sitting around and listening to my mother go on and on about Narcissa and how wonderful it was that she was married to a good family and that as soon as she has a child I'll no longer be the youngest in the family and I won't be nearly as spoiled as I am now. There was a bit more, but my attention was going in and out of focus. As if I have anything to worry about as far as Narcissa having a child. I can't imagine her as a mother. And nobody's counting on Bellatrix having any offspring either. She'd probably eat it.

I'm going home for Christmas. I can't stand this place any more. I need my room and, well, my room. And not being under the same roof as Sirius is always nice as well. He causes so much trouble that people never stop blathering on about him. But of course, it's pretty much the same at home. My mother complaining, my father frowning and shaking his head a lot. But there is always... my room.

Otherwise I don't have much to tell you people.

I can't believe that damned Gryffindor Seeker got the Snitch before me. I saw it before he did, my broom is faster than his is, and I'm lighter so I should have been going faster. But no, instead everyone stopped to watch and that bloody bludger broke my wrist. Pomfrey mended it easily enough, but that doesn't mean it didn't hurt and we still lost. By one hundred ten points, no less. How humiliating. At least it wasn't Hufflepuff.

Speaking of Hufflepuff, there was some annoying girl in the Great Hall the other day. Going on about how we were harassing some first year. I honestly don't know what she meant. Perhaps she was imagining things.

There are so many people in this castle that I don't like. Particularly my brother's friend's girlfriends, my brother's friends, and sometimes my brother. Why people find it necessary to attempt to get a rise out of me, I'll never understand. People just can't accept that other people have differing opinions. I don't have to agree with you and you don't have to agree with me (although you're wrong). Oh, and I'll call people what I like.

Quidditch on the seventeenth. Don't foul it up, Rosier.

I wasn't entirely sure if I was going to attend this silly thing at Hogwarts or my cousin's wedding, but given the lack of invitation not that I want to go anyway to anyone other than my parents in the family, that greatly reduced my options. But since I didn't find out until last minute, I have no costume. I was looking through some book I found in the library and I have decided to go as a vicar. Simple outfit, nothing too extravagant. Hopefully it won't be as inane as every other school event (aside from Quidditch, of course). But time shall tell. Perhaps I'll send Narcissa a letter congratulating her on her wedding. Most likely not, though.

As I expected I've been made Slytherin seeker again. Practice has been going well, not that I need much. Homework has been tolerable as well. And, aside from Potter harassing me every chance he gets and a few bits of random weirdness from Rosier, things have been going well this term. Aside from that damn Quidditch captain nearly making me the reserve seeker. I just finished a letter home to my mother and father about the state of things. They've been keeping in touch more often than they ever have before and keep mentioning Narcissa's wedding. I suppose they expect me to get married during the summer holidays or something equally ridiculous. Sorry, but I'm still a bit too young for that sort of thing. Leave the marrying to Narcissa and Bellatrix. And that other one. Maybe even Sirius someday.

Apparently one can't even go for a jog around here without being annoyed by other people. Mainly Potter, yet again. Perhaps he'll get less annoying once the Quidditch season starts... Although somehow I doubt it. It'll probably get worse. Especially since my ex-brother is trying out for the team as well. That's probably how they'll win all their games too. They'll annoy the other team into losing. Rosier, you better not suck this term. At Quidditch, I mean. I couldn't care less about anything else you may be sucking at.

Seems to have been some Muggle attack people are blathering on about. It's not as if it's anything new. Especially recently. Move on with your lives, people. The Dark Lord knows what he's doing.

My ex-brother's friends are atrocious. Particularly that Potter, the bloody ponce. Although I did have the fortune of seeing him slapped across the face by that red haired Mudblood girl. I think she bruised him. It was one of those moments that made me glad that I loitered in the Great Hall for the amount of time that I did.

Quidditch try-outs are two weekends from now. The twenty-ninth, I believe. It should be easy enough. I haven't really heard about anyone else going out for Seeker this year. Besides that, I was one of the few decent players on the team last year. Quidditch will be nice... Something to do other than the nothing I've been doing. It's been a boring year thus far.

Second day back to classes and that damned Slughorn is already annoying me. Again. He never gives up! I've gone to one of his little Slugclub parties, was bored out of my mind, and vowed never to go again. He seemed to let up a bit until Quidditch season started last year. I'm going to have to battle him off again. Or perhaps he'll invite someone interesting to those parties. Someone who isn't my brother.

Speaking of Quidditch, try-outs are in a few weeks. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for new Chasers. That's right, Rosier. New Chasers. Unless you've miraculously improved.

Just about two weeks before it's time to go back to Hogwarts. Since my holiday has been mind numbingly boring, I'm actually looking forward to it. I've been stuck inside for the majority of the summer with my cousin Narcissa and her incessant hair flipping and gazing in the mirror. She's also plotting her wedding to some poor chap. But at least that will be one less person about the house.

I've finished all the homework they've given us for the holiday. I finished that quite a bit ago actually, since I've not had much else to do. I've shopped for a new broomstick for Quidditch this year. I hope we get some better chasers this year. They were rather dodgy last term. Our beaters were all right though. Hopefully they'll make the team again.
